A traditional Japanese tool (also known as a chasen), crafted from a single piece of bamboo. Use this whisk to prepare matcha properly. Why? While there are many ways to prepare matcha, this whisk's 100 prongs are designed to thoroughly blend matcha powder, water, and air to create a frothy drink with a smooth texture and delicate aroma.

Before each use, we recommend soaking both new and used whisks in a bowl of warm water for up to 2 minutes. This helps soften the bamboo and extends the whisk's lifespan by making the tines more flexible. You may notice the prongs "blooming" as the whisk gently opens and expands.

How to use
Place 1/2 teaspoon of matcha powder into a bowl and add approximately 1/3 cup of water at 85°C. Hold the whisk vertically from above and whisk vigorously back and forth using a "Z" or "M" motion. The movement should feel light on your wrist. Avoid scraping the bottom of the bowl and whisk only within the water on the surface. After approximately 20–30 seconds, you should see a layer of green foam. A rich, frothy layer helps soften matcha's natural bitterness while enhancing its delicate flavour.
